BOARD OF TRUSTEES ROLES
The Vinings Homeowners Association Board of Trustees is made up of Vinings resident volunteers. The Board meets monthly (September through June).
Zoning & Development
Review pending zoning applications and other civic related issues within the community and/or county which may affect Vinings.
New zoning applications are identified by a designated Board member via monitoring Cobb County District 2 zoning applications within or bordering Vinings.
Initiate contact and schedule meetings with relevant parties to review concerns for zoning applications (when appropriate):
Applicable Cobb County leadership personnel in departments including DOT, Zoning, Planning, Wastewater, the Planning Commission and County Commissioner.
The developer or the developer’s representatives to review the proposed development and the community’s concerns.
Bordering property owners.
Communicate information to VVHA Members about zoning applications and other civic related issues via the website and email.
Coordinate community action when appropriate.
Attend Cobb County Planning Commission and Board of Commissioner meetings to present Vinings position on zoning applications.
Contact developers regarding compliance with Cobb County approved Architectural Guidelines developed jointly between Cobb County and Vinings residents resulting from Vinings Vision Plan.
Security
Manage the VVHA Security Program with Cobb County Police (Cumberland Station #3) to coordinate neighborhood officer patrols and the Flock Camera license tag monitoring program.
Issue monthly security report and email it to VVHA security members.
Note: A designated Board member manages the security program.
General
Contact and meet with Cobb DOT concerning traffic control and road safety issues.
Contact Cobb County Code Enforcement to report identified code violations.
Maintain open communication with Cobb County District 2 Commissioner and District 2 Planning Commission.
Coordinate the annual membership drive in the fourth quarter and distribute membership packets to residents’ mailboxes.
Coordinate annual member meeting or Cobb County Town Hall, usually in April
