Woodland brook Dynamic Speed Display Signs
In an effort to slow down neighborhood speeders,Cobb County DOT implemented a Traffic Calming Plan. The plan includes use of Dynamic Speed Display Signs (DSDS) which are traffic signs used to alert drivers of their speed to encourage a slow down.
In October 2024, flashing speed feedback (DSDS) signs were installed near the Orchard Knob intersection area in both directions of travel.
Cobb DOT will monitor the Woodland Brook corridor to determine if additional remedies are needed. Research shows that DSDS can be effective at reducing speeds, especially for drivers traveling faster than the posted speed limit.
