2022-2023 VININGS VILLAGE HOA PROJECTS

Zoning

Z-60 Rezoning Application: Filed 7.7.22

  • Mixed use development located at the NW corner of S. Atlanta & Plant Atkinson Roads
    • 393 apartment units in 2-5 story apartment buildings, 796 car parking deck + retail
    • Density: 63.4 residential units per acre
  • Z-60 Rezoning Application Hearings are scheduled to be heard by the Cobb County Planning Commission & Board of Commissioners in December 2022
  • VVHA Board is actively meeting with the developer and Cobb County officials
  • Opposition Petition available on the VVHA website has over 600 resident names
  • Objections 
    • Across from single family homes on Log Cabin Drive 
    • Zoned Heavy Industrial
    • Adjacent to Garbage Transfer Station & two canine boarding facilities
    • 400 yards from Sterigenics 
    • Additional traffic risk on S. Atlanta Road and surrounding surface streets 

Other zoning

  • Monitor ongoing construction of townhomes and retail at Paces Ferry Rd. & Vinings Slope.

Cobb County communication 

  • Maintain ongoing communication with the District 2 Commissioner and other county officials
  • Contact Cobb County Code Enforcement to report identified code violations (ex. Figo property) 

Traffic control

  • Worked with Cobb DOT on realignment of right turn lane at Woodland Brook and Paces Ferry intersection (complete).

Security program

  • Worked with Cobb County & Cobb Police Department to expand the Flock Camera network from 8 to 14 cameras.
  • Expansion of the Flock Cameras was possible due to an increase in 2022 “Vinings Security Patrol” membership. Thank you VVHA Security Members!
